Storing Holiday Decorations
Holiday decorations have only just gone up, my friends, but it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to store these merry babies away.
Call me Scrooge, call me the Grinch, or call me the Fairy Godmother of Christmas Organizing.
Once you check out these fun ways to storing your holiday décor, I think you’ll understand why taking down the decorations can be almost as fun as putting them up in the first place.
Christmas Wreath Storage
Anybody else spend an ungodly amount of time this year dusting off your wreath?
Say good bye to eleven months of cobweb accumulation with a wreath bag.
This wreath storage bag is large enough to hold my Costco-sized wreath. It also zips up like a breeze and has a sturdy loop so that you can hang it on a garage wall when not in use.

Organizing Wrapping Paper, Bows + Tags
In a similar vein, storage bags are all the rage for neatly storing Christmas gift wrap.
This one from Amazon is my current fave. It’s large enough to be a one-stop gift wrapping station with compartments for large rolls of paper, gift bags, bows and nametags. Best of all, it’s shallow enough to slide right under my bed!

Safely Packed Ornaments
When it comes to storing holiday ornaments, I’ve always been a fan of bins that are specifically designed for ornaments. These are the ones with individual compartments meant to keep each of your fancy ornaments safe and snug.
That being said, these simple acrylic bins let me store several ornaments together safely without having to worry about wrapping them in tissue. Plus they stack really well into my larger Christmas tubs. The best part: these individual bins are all less than $3 each.

Storing Holiday Tchotchkes + Keepsakes
Over the years, I’ve slowly accumulated a much-loved collection of Christmas tchotchkes. One easy way to tuck them away safely each year is to wrap them individually before placing them in more Christmas tubs. Save yourself the hassle of finding tissue and re-purpose your sure-to-be-large collection of holiday towels and holiday pj’s to do the job for you.
The organizer in me would be remiss not to remind you to cull your collection as you go about taking down ornaments and keepsakes this year. Toss chipped and broken items and say goodbye to those items that no longer spur that merry Christmas-y feeling. Trust me, you’re bound to find more next year that do.
