Organizing Kid Artwork: Art Display Frames
Organizing (Endless) Kid Artwork
School’s finally out, but if you’re like our family your kids are still coming home from camp with new artwork. Seriously, will the papers EVER stop?
Organizing kids paperwork 24/7 is exhausting. Let’s face it: your little Picasso isn’t always hitting it out of the park and many of these “masterpieces” would fare better in the garbage than your kitchen counter. #ruthless
So How Do You Go About Organizing Kid Artwork?
Many organizers are touting the graces of a keepsake box for your kid’s mementos. I’m a big fan of these babies, too, but have no desire to update these boxes daily. And as ruthless as I was earlier, I have to admit that displaying my boys’ artwork is a special way to recognize their hard work before tossing or tucking papers away.
[Side note: If you have no idea what a keepsake box is, don’t fret. I’ll have another post on that soon.]
So what’s a parent to do?
Enter Art Display Picture Frames
Spare your refrigerator and use a picture frame to highlight your Picasso’s latest masterpiece.
My favorite at the moment is this Umbra frame from Target.

Here’s the gist:
- Open up the frame to place your art piece of the day
- Use the right side to store the old work. I’m about 20 pieces in and still have loads of space to spare (don’t tell their teachers)
- The elastic firmly holds these leftover pieces in place
- Once you run out of room, this is your cue to move your favorites to your keepsake box (or soon-to-have keepsake box once you read my future post)
- Hang the frame on the wall and you’re good to go

And there you have it. A simple and inexpensive way to display kids artwork, while being pretty enough to display in any room of the house. You’re welcome.
